Challenge 22 - Suicide Awareness and Prevention

The Goals for this event: •, Bring 2,000 to 4,000 West Orange county families together for a day of fun (music, food, beer, entertainment, walk) while raising awareness to this serious problem. •, Raise $40,000 to $50,000 thru donations, sponsorships and event revenue to cover event expenses (keep these as low as possible), while donating the balance to the American Legion’s 501c3 called PROJECT: VetRelief and other local Veteran serving non-profits. •, Have Winter Garden FL become the model for the rest of the nation in how to engage a community into a serious Veteran issue.

With 100 years’ experience of Veterans serving Veterans, engaging the Community to solve veterans issues, the American Legion’s goal is to solve the outrageous epidemic of 22 Veterans dying everyday due to suicide and Post Traumatic Stress by engaging our communities while bringing the nation together for a common good.
